THE LOST SOUL
You get to a
stage in life where nothing matters anymore
The world
has molded you into what it wants you to become;
DEPENDENT,
UNSTABLE, LOW
UNENTREPRENEURAL,
SAD,
THE UNTRUE
THOUGHT THAT YOU ARE LIVING THE PERFECT LIFE
THAT JOB YOU
THINK YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH
THAT MENTALITY
THAT YOU CANNOT DO IT
THAT FEELING
OF DOWNCAST
THAT ANGER
TOWARDS THE WORLD
A BROKEN
SOUL, A PIERCED HEART, A DARK AND COLD EYES, A HEARTLESS MIND, A CORRUPT MIND
A WICKED
BEING and the list goes on and on and on and on and on and on.
At this
stage nothing matters anymore, you take life as it is
It has eaten
you up to the point you feel there is no repair
It has
beaten you down, you feel there is no rematch
You’ve been
trampled, you feel numb
You’ve been
broken, you feel broken
If it were
up to you to pull the trigger, you will do before a second thought pops up
You feel the
chill……………………..

I wrote this
piece yesterday, and it got featured on air a radio station yesterday.
It came out
of an angry soul, a depressed young man
I looked at
how bad the world has turned out to be, how crazy everything seems to be
getting, how the society is heading for doom.
I looked at
the captains of this country, world. At some of our leaders who have so far
refused to show good examples.
I looked at
the teachers of our primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.
I heard a
disheartening story of a girl who got caught with her boyfriend in an obscure
corner somewhere in school where morals are the other of the day and immorality
is not condoned. What sweet words could he have said? Even if you had to do it,
why not out of school.
And then I
had to reflect upon the so-called fun we think we are having
The balling
outs we all engage in, the highness, the low mode, and wonder how far the
youths have strayed away.
Someway or
the other, we’ll all be faced with a trigger, we can either decide to pull it,
or dump it
Pull it and
it all ends, dump it and pick yourself back, join the trend towards a better
Nigeria
Toward a
better world.

And then the presenter ended it with the
words “Don’t let your life get to this stage, always remember you are a star.”
Wow,our society tho
